Hector Villarreal – K-9 Trainer
Hector Villarreal’s 24 year law enforcement career began with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office in 1998. He left the Sheriff’s Office to become a founding member of the Elk Grove Police Department K-9 unit in 2006 where he worked 14 years as a K9 handler. Hector was also a founding member of the SWAT team. He and his most recent K-9 partner Alex, a 9 year old Dutch Shepherd, retired in 2022. K-9 Alex was certified in patrol and narcotics detection and had numerous felony apprehensions and narcotics finds during K-9 Alex’s 6 year career.
